Robert Angus Gordon was born in Summerside, in 1897 , and was educated at Prince of Wales College and Dalhousie University, He discontinued attendance at the latter institution to enter the service of the Canadian National Railways, Express Department.
He served for a time in France with the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery and now holds a Commission in the Prince Edward Island Light Horse.
In Freemasonry, his connection dates from 1921 when was raised in Mount Lebanon Lodge, No. 6, Summerside, now Hiram and Lebanon No. 3,of which he was Worshipful Master in 1925.
He is a member of Prince Edward Chapter, No. 12, Royal Arch Masons, Kensington, a S. P. R. S., 320 in Nova Scotia Consistory, A. & A. S. R. and has been, since 1927, T. P. G. M. Albert Edward Lodge of Perfection, Summerside.
He is Grand Representative of the Grand Lodge of British Columbia near this Grand Lodge, and, after serving three years as Grand Lecturer, was elected Senior Grand Warden in 1930, Deputy Grand Master in 1931, and in 1932, Grand Master.
