Wilfred Scott Burns, son of Russell and Anna Roger Burns, was born May 10, 1913, at Freetown, Prince Edward Island. He received his early education in the South Freetown Public School. In 1941 he was employed by the Canadian National Railways and has been with them ever since.

September 20, 1939, he was married to Margaret Houston and has three children, two girls and one boy. The oldest Joyce is married to Frederick Bridges and he now has three grandchildren, two boys and one girl.

He is a member of Trinity United Church, Summerside, and has served on the Board of Stewards.

He was raised in Hiram & Lebanon Lodge No. 3, Summerside, P.E.I. July 14, 1947 and served that Lodge as its Worshipful Master in 1958.

He was exalted in Prince Edward Chapter No. 12 R. A. M. and served as its High Priest in 1959, he has held various offices in the Grand Chapter of R. A. M. Nova Scotia, P.E.I. and Nfld. While he was High Priest of his Chapter he was also Presiding Preceptor of Prince Edward Preceptory No. 35, K. T. In 1967 he was installed as T. I. Master of Garden of the Gulf Council No. 9, R. & S. M. He is a member of Luxor Temple of the Shrine.

He is a Scottish Rite Mason and presided over Albert Edward Lodge of Perfection, Valley of Summerside.

In the Grand Lodge he served through the various offices and at the Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge held June 22, 1968, he was elected and installed Grand Master.

He is Grand Representative of the Grand Lodges of the District of Columbia and Japan near the Grand Lodge of Prince Edward Island.
