Franklin McNeill Pidgeon was born at Kensington, Prince Edward Island on March 31st, 1896.

He was educated at the Kensington High School and entered the service of the Bank of Nova Scotia in 1914. After serving at different branches of the Bank in Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Alberta, he was appointed Manager, at. Victoria,, Prince Edward Island in 1923, coming to Kensington branch in November, 1933.

His connection with Freemasonry dates from 1923 when he was raised a member of Mount Lebanon Lodge, No. 6, Summerside, P. E. I., by courtesy of True Brothers Lodge, No 8, Crapaud, P. E. I., affiliating with the latter Lodge the same year; presiding as Worshipful Master in 1929. He is also a member of Mount Zion Lodge No. 12, Kensington, P. E. I.

He is Grand Representative of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts near this Grand Lodge.

In Grand Lodge he was appointed Junior Grand Steward in 1930, elected Junior Grand Warden in 1931, Senior Grand Warden in 1932, Deputy Grand Master in 1933 and Grand Master in 1934.
