Hever Beverley MacFarlane, son of the late William A. and Alice Jane MacFarlane, was born on a farm near Sussex, Kings County, New Brunswick, on October eighth, 1908. In 1932 he married Burness Norma Radcliffe, and of this union one son, David Malcolm, was born.

Most Worshipful Brother MacFarlane received his first Light in Masonry in Hiram and Lebanon Lodge No. 3, Summerside, Prince Edward Island, where he was raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason on October 27th, 1938, He was elected to the office of Worshipful Master of Hiram and Lebanon Lodge in 1944.

In the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Most Worshipful Brother MacFarlane received the degree of Grand Elect Perfect and Sublime Mason in Albert Edward Lodge of Perfection, Summerside, Prince Edward Island, on October 28th, 1941. He was elected to the office of Thrice Puissant Grand Master in 1944. In 1947 he became a member of Keith Chapter, Rose Croix, at Halifax, Nova Scotia.

In the Grand Lodge of Prince Edward Island A.F. & A.M., Most Worshipful Brother MacFarlane received the appointment of Senior Grand Steward in 1945. He was elected Junior Grand Warden in 1946; Senior Grand Warden in 1947; Deputy Grand Master in 1948; and Grand Master in 1949.

Most Worshipful Brother MacFarlane is the Grand Representative of The Grand Lodge of Illinois near The Grand Lodge of Prince Edward Island, having received this appointment in 1948.
