M. W. Bro. Thomas Arthur Dawson was born at North Tryon on April 15th, 1886, and received his education in the public school of that village.

He followed his father and grand father in the occupation of farming, and still resides on part of the old farm cleared from the virgin forest by the grandfather.

In 1920 He retired from active farming to carry on a successful fox ranching business.

Most Worshipful Brother Dawson received his Entered Apprentice Degree in True Brothers Lodge on October 9th, 1928, and was passed to the Fellow Craft in November of the same year. On June 11th, 1929, he was raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason.

He was elected Worshipful Master of True Brothers Lodge in 1938 and in the following year was appointed Senior Grand Deacon of Grand Lodge. From this position he advanced each year until finally, he was chosen for the Grand East in 1943.

He is Grand Representative of the Grand Lodge of Iowa and in the Scottish Right Mason he is a member of Prince Albert Lodge of Perfection, Summerside, P.E.I. and of Keith Chapter, Rose Croix of Halifax, N.S.
