Grand Master 1944 – 1945

Grand Master of Masons in Prince Edward Island was born at Kensington, son of Dr. Donald Darrach, (33 degree Scottish Rite Mason,) and Mrs. Darrach.

He received his early education in Kensington High School and Horton Collegiate Academy, Wolfville, N. S. After spending six years in the United States he returned to P. E. I., and entered business with the Reuben Tuplin Co., of which his father was sole proprietor. After his fathers death he continued to carry on the business which he still conducts.

Mr. Waldin Darrach received his first light in Masonry in Mount Zion Lodge No. 12 at Kensington, being elevated to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason, on June 6th, 1912, raised through the chairs from Senior Deacon he was elected Master and presided over Mount Zion Lodge No. 12 in 1916. He was elected to the office of Grand Lecturer in 1938, to G. S. D. in 1940, G. J, W. in 1941, G. S, W. in 1942, D. G. M. in 1943, and the Grand East in June, 1944.

In the year 1925 Mr. Darrach had the honor to be appointed Grand Representative of the Grand Lodge of New Jersey, which honor he still holds.

He entered Capitulary Masonry in 1913, and was exalted to the Holy Royal Arch, in Prince Edward Chapter No. Kensington, on April 15, 1913. He became M. E. High Priest in 1917 and again in 1940, 41, 42, 43 and 1944, which office he still retains, He was G. Superintendent in the years 192627 and was Grand Representative of the Grand Lodge of Iowa, He was appointed High Priest of Royal Arch Masons in 1922.
