Robert George MacDougall

Most Worshipful Brother Robert George MacDougall, Grand Master
Grand Lodge of Prince Edward Island, A.F. & A.M.
Grand Master 2025-2026

Born December 16, 1964, I received my early education in Truro, Nova Scotia, before moving to Charlottetown at the age of 15. After graduating from Colonel Grey High School, I embarked on two great adventures: marriage and joining the Canadian Armed Forces.

Over the next 20 years, my family and I were posted to Nova Scotia; Newfoundland and Labrador; Quebec; and West Germany. I also completed tours of duty in Cyprus. During the latter part of my career, I expanded my education, obtaining a baccalaureate degree in political science from the University of Manitoba, as well as a two-year certification in Machining from the Province of Nova Scotia.

In 1996, at the conclusion of my military career, I commenced employment with Dalhousie University as a Security Supervisor, retiring 20 years later, in 2016. During this time, I became both a SCUBA (to 120 feet) and NITROX diving instructor. These certifications enabled me to complete several memorable dives, including the cenote and cave diving systems of south-central Mexico.

In 2006, I discovered Freemasonry and petitioned Sackville Lodge No. 137 in Sackville, Nova Scotia, eventually rising to the rank of Worshipful Master in 2018.

Returning to my beloved island in 2016, I affiliated with Prince of Wales Lodge No. 18 in Wheatley River and became Worshipful Master in 2018.

In addition to having served as Past Worshipful Master of two Craft Lodges, I am also an active member of both the Scottish and York Rite appendant bodies.

I am both honoured and humbled to serve as your Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Prince Edward Island for 2025–2026.

Brothers, let us continue moving forward while celebrating our history.
