The first meeting in the new Lodge Room was held on December 3, 1926. The Minutes of that Communication are the first ones recorded in a Lodge Minute Book. The Deputy Grand Master, R.W.Bro. W.J. Drake and several Grand Lodge Officers were present. After reading the Dispensation from the Grand Master, the Deputy Grand Master handed the Gavel to the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Shannon M. Daniel. Bro. George Green had been elected to replace Bro. J.A. Lefurgey as Senior Warden. W.Bro. Lefurgey, a dentist, had moved from Hunter River. John L. Clark was the first applicant for the mysteries of Freemasonry in Prince of Wales Lodge. He was raised on March 25, 1927. M.W.Bro. John M. Nicholson, the Grand Master, and several Grand Lodge Officers were in attendance for that degree. W.Bro. H.T. Begg PM of Mount Lebanon No. 6 in Summerside conferred the Degree at the request of the Grand Master. The Lodge operated ‘ Under Dispensation’ until June 24, 1927 when the Charter was approved. (The Dispensation, in frame and under glass, is stored in the Lodge Library.) The petitioners listed on the Dispensation were Shannon M Daniel, J. Alexander Lefurgey, Murdock Cutcliffe, Frank M Bagnall, George Green, Russell Campbell, James.Andrews, John M. McLeod, John F MacMillan, R Philip Bagnall, Daniel M. McLeod, Archibald G.McLeod, Archibald Barrett, Lemuel David Hooper McCoubrey, James Wellington Patterson and Eldon Seaman.

The Charter was presented by M.W.Bro. W.J. Drake at the Regular Communication on August 5, 1927. His gift to the Lodge was his framed portrait which hangs in the present Lodge Room. The new Officers were installed by W.Bro. E.T. Carbonell PM. of Victoria No. 2. The present Grand Lodge representative from Prince of Wales, V.W.Bro. David Hooper, is a great grandson of Bro. Carbonell.

The new Lodge Room was dedicated at a Special Communication of Grand Lodge on October 14, 1927. Twenty-six Brethren were present including M.W. Bro.W.J. Drake the Grand Master and nine Grand Lodge Officers. The new Lodge Room was solemnly dedicated in Full Form by the Grand Master. He made reference to the building and to the solid work of the Lodge Officers in his Address to Grand Lodge in June 1927: “The Masons of Hunter River have a building to be proud of. It is designed beautifully and one of the most substantial in construction in the Province. … The work carried on by the Worshipful Master, Brother S.M. Daniel and his capable Officers gives great promise of progress and advancement of the Craft in that part of the Jurisdiction.” (Grand Lodge Proceedings 1928 p. 28).
