A farmers son who served overseas with the P.E.I. Highlanders and the 4th Light Anti-Aircraft R.C.A. Regiment World War II. D. Roscoe Walker of Kensington, was proclaimed the 67th Grand Master of Masons in P.E.I. during closing session of the 84th Annual Communication of Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. of P.E.I. held at Charlottetown June 24

A native of P.E.I., he was born in Kensington on December 4 her 1, 1909, where he received his early schooling followed by higher education at Mount Allison University, Sackville N.B.

He subsequently entered the career of his choice that farming for several years until he opened a drug store where he sold upon his enlistment in the Army. Upon his return civil life he once more pursued the life of a farmer until recent appointment of village Post Master.

In 1940 our Grand Master married Hazel Jean Meek French River, P.E.I. Of this union two daughters and son were born.

He has long been active in the spiritual, cultural and Civic Affairs of his community. He is a member of Kensington United Church which institution he serves as Elder and Choir Director.

His Masonic record began in 1936, when he received degrees of Symbolic Masonry in Mt. Zion Lodge No. 12, Kensington. He served his Lodge as Worshipful Master in 19 He is the Grand Representative for the Grand Lodge of Florida near this Grand Lodge.

Other Masonic affiliations include membership in Prince Edward Chapter No. 12, R.A.M., R.N.S.; Garden of the Gulf Council No. 9 R. & S.M.; Prince Edward Preceptory No. Knights Templar, and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite the Valley of Halifax where he received his 32degree.

His service to the Grand Lodge began in 1955 when Grand Master Malcolm MacKenzie appointed him Senior Grand Deacon. Since that date his Brethren have advanced him to posts of greater responsibility until June 24, 1959, he was invested with the Purple of the Fraternity.
