M. W. Brother Donald Baker was born in Freetown, Prince Edward Island, on October 14th, 1885. He was educated in the public schools of the Province and started his Civil Career as a farmer on the homestead. Following two years in Saskatchewan, where he was connected with the building trades, he returned to his native land and, in 1919, entered the employ of R. T. Holman Ltd., Summerside.
His experience in Western Canada, his knowledge of agriculture and agricultural products in this Province, combined with an engaging personality, brought him rapid promotion and he today holds the responsible position of Manager of this firm s, Coal, Lumber and Produce Department.
Brother Baker has always been prominently identified with every local organization and movement having to do with the welfare of the general public. In addition, he de votes a large part of his time to the interests of the Presbyterian Church of Summerside. He is keenly interested in the Fox Farming Industry and is a director of the Dominion Silver Fox Furs Ltd., and President of the international Fox and Animal Foods Ltd., of Summerside.
Our present Grand Master s Masonic career dates from 1921 when he was raised to the sublime Degree of a Master Mason in Hiram & Lebanon Lodge, No. 3. In 1932 he served as W. M. of this Lodge and immediately became active in Grand Lodge work. His ability was early recognized and his keen interest in the Craft was rewarded by his election to the Grand East in 1938. Brother Baker is also a member of Albert Edward Lodge of Perfection, 140, A.S.S.R., Summerside, Prince Edward Island.
