Errol Reginald Stetson, son of Henry J, and the late Eliza Stetson, O’Leary, Prince Edward Island, was born at Rosebank, September, 1909. He received his primary education in the Unionvale Public School. He is a graduate of the Union Commercial College, Charlottetown. His business training proved very useful in his becoming a successful farmer. He owned and operated a farm in OLeary, until he retired in 1955 to take a position with the Mutual Fire Insurance Co. of Prince Edward Island. He still operates his farm but only as a hobby.
He is a member of Bloomfield United Church, acting as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, also Recording Steward of the O’Leary Pastoral Charge. He has contributed valuable service to the O’Leary Hospital and is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
In 1938 he was united in marriage to Isobel Ramsay, R.N. By this union he has been blessed with one son, Reginald Keith, with the R.C.A.F. and a daughter, Joan, Mrs. Aurie MacLean, Charlottetown.
Being the grandson of the late Duncan Profit, a man that contributed much to Masonry in Prince Edward Island, a cousin of the late John T. Profit, Grand Master in 1912, it is only natural that he should follow in their inspiring footsteps. In 1931, at the early age of twenty-one years, he applied to Zetland Lodge No. 7, Alberton, and was raised in January of that year, becoming Worshipful Master in 1942. In 1950 he was a Charter member and the first Master of Corinthian Lodge No. 19, OLeary, instituted that year.
He was exalted a Royal Arch Companion in King Solomon Chapter, O”Leary, consecrated a Knights Templar in Prince Edward Preceptory, No. 35, Charlottetown. a member of Albert Edward Lodge of Perfection A. & A. S. R., Valley of Summerside, and at the time of writing he is a prime mover and will he a Charter Member of a Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star to he instituted in O’Leary.
Because of his loyalty and initiative to the Grand Lodge while serving through the various Grand Offices he was elected as Grand Master, June 25, 1958.
