Heber Ross was born in Charlottetown, PEI on February 3rd 1950 to Neil and Pearle Ross of Fortune Head.

Education includes one room school in Fortune Head up to grade 4, then to Bridgetown up to grade 8, completing grade 12 at Montague Regional High School.

He moved from the family farm upon graduation to work in Ontario at the Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant in St. Thomas, while living in London for three years. He moved back to the family farm in Dundas in 1974 to milk cows with his father Neil, a great partnership lasting until March 2007.

In 1977 – Heber took a course at Masstown, N.S. for Class 1 Tractor Trailer driving for a short while then back to take the School Bus training course in 1978 and he is still driving a school bus to Dundas Consolidated school 29 years later.

On January 3rd 1979 he married Jennifer Pain of Nelson, England. They have three great children – Nigel 24, Trevor 22 and Lindsay 20 and a daughter-in-law (Nigel’s wife) Patricia 23. “they are the loves of my life” says Heber.

Volunteer work includes – Central Kings Volunteer Fire Company since 1974 serving as Deputy Chief since 1980. One of the Founding Members of the Kings County Ground Search and Rescue Team based out of Montague. Member of the Board of Directors of the Kings County Plowing Match and Agricultural Fair. Elder and Sunday school teacher at Dundas United Church on several occasions over the years. Treasurer of the Eastern PEI Antique Equipment Club where the members enjoy restoring tired iron of years gone by.

Heber joined the Masonic Lodge in St. George’s Lodge No. 4, Georgetown and was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on April 1st 1980. He served in many offices and became the Worshipful Master in 1985.

Also a member of the Montague Chapter 69 Order of the Eastern Star since 1980.

The Masonic Order is a rewarding experience of fraternal friendship of men who are called Brothers, world wide. “I truly love every minute I have been a member of this great fraternity” says M.W.Bro. Ross.
